SUSTAINABLE SESSIONS

First and foremost, we aim to provide a casual forum for our members to discuss and teach each other sustainable living practices.  There is a variety of ways through which we do this:

• Self Teaching - We often find ourselves sitting around in an informal setting and teaching one another about topics which we have spent time researching or have experience in. Sometimes this is done via a BBQ at our apartments, sitting on the beach, or at a local watering hole.
• Movie Nights - There are so many great documentaries available today ranging from global warming, to electric cars, to vinyl siding.  We enjoy watching these together over some snacks and in the company of people we can later discuss our take aways or new concerns.
• Speakers - A unique part of where we live is that we already have a vast community of experts in many areas of sustainability via local businesses, educational institutions, and environmental groups. We like to bring these people to us so we can learn how they have made impacts within our communities.
• Community Service - Sustainable Sessions is focused on the community. Being so we like to involved with local events such as beach clean up days and being an exhibitor at events like Earth Day Celebrations.
• Expos and Conferences - Los Angeles draws a variety of green expos and conferences. Often times members of Sustainable Sessions will attend these events together to again learn from the experts and network with other people in the area that have found ways to make their passion for sustainability part of their job!
• Green Events - Of course it is important that we are involved with other green focused organizations within the community.  Our members regularly attend events such as Green Drinks to support what our peers are doing to change our communities!

We also endeavor to expand this knowledge to positively impact our broader community and we continually brainstorm and develop ways through which we can accomplish this. If you have suggestions or would like our participation at an event, just let us know!
